In this study, we want to learn if eating meals together as a family can help improve your child’s health, and the health of other family members too!
We want to find out if having more family meals, healthier meals, and getting everyone involved in meals can help your family feel better and live healthier lives. If this program works well, we hope to share it with more families in the future.
If you join the study, your family will be randomly placed into one of three groups, like rolling dice. Most of the study activities will take place online. You’ll use your phone or computer to do virtual visits with us. We’ll also send you tips about family meals. Some groups may also get help from a community health worker who will teach cooking skills and share ways to make healthy meals with less stress.
Your family will be in this study for about 12 months.
This study may be a good fit for you if:
•You are currently having less than 3 family meals per week and want to increase this number
•Have a child ages 5-10 years old
•Live within roughly 30-40 minutes from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus
•Speak English or Spanish
