We want to see how easy and acceptable it is for people who have had any adult cancer within the past 10 years to join both a nutrition program and an exercise program.
This study wants to see if we can add a nutrition program (BfedBwell) to an exercise program (BfitBwell) for cancer survivors. We will also see how the two programs affect: (1) eating and activity habits, (2) following healthy lifestyle guidelines, (3) weight and body changes, and (4) heart health. The BfedBwell program has online group education and may also include group support, cooking demos, and 1-on-1 talks with a dietitian. The BfitBwell program has in-person and remote exercise support.
If you join this study, you will be in both programs for 6 months. You will have one online and one in-person visit to see if you are a good fit. The programs include online and in-person sessions at the Anschutz Health and Wellness Center in Aurora, Colorado, up to two times per week. You will have in-person visits before starting and again at months 3 and 6. At these visits, we will check your weight, blood pressure, waist and hip measures, and take blood samples. We will also take X-ray pictures of your body to measure body fat. At home, you will take online surveys, keep track of your food and exercise habits, and wear a device that tracks your activity. You will also collect your urine and stool. At the end, you will join a 90-minute group meeting to share your feedback.
