In this study, we want to better understand how the environment and things that happen early in children’s lives—even before they are born—affect their development, health, and well-being.
Our study is part of a program across the country called ECHO. This program works with families to see how daily life and early experiences affect children’s health.
Study visits will take place at our clinic on the CU Anschutz campus. You can complete some parts of the study from home using a computer or smart device. At study visits, we will ask you and your child questions about your health, your home, and your daily life. We will measure you/your child’s height and weight. We may also collect small biological samples, like blood and urine.
If you join this study, you will have two study visits during your pregnancy, two study visits in the first year after your baby is born, and then one study visit each year after your child turns one year old.
You may be able to join this study if you are a pregnant woman that is at least 16 years old. You must be less than 20 weeks pregnant at the time you join the study. You also must be able to read, write, and speak in English or Spanish.
