Tirzepatide Smoking Cessation Study

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of the investigational use of a GLP-1 medication called tirzepatide (Zepbound) on cigarette smoking, cigarette craving, and related outcomes.


Why this Research Matters

During the research study, you will have a physical exam and lab tests, give urine and blood samples, do breathalyzer tests, answer questions and complete questionnaires, use an app on your phone, use a nicotine patch, and take an injectable study medication or a placebo.


Who can Participate

Adult

Inclusion criteria: - Age 21-65 - Daily cigarette smoker - Interested in reducing or stopping your cigarette use - Overweight (body mass index of 25 or higher) Not everyone will qualify to be in the study. Other inclusion and exclusion criteria will be evaluated by the study team.
