CARE IN MS: CHILDHOOD ADVERSITY RESEARCH EFFORT IN MS

Evaluate the impact of childhood adversity on Multiple Sclerosis (MS) outcomes in a multi-center study involving 300 participants with Relapsing-Remitting MS (approximately 50% with pediatric-onset MS [POMS] and 50% with adult-onset MS [AOMS]) enrolled across 7 sites. Assess links between childhood adversity and MS onset age, severity and brain health.

Why this Research Matters

This study will investigate the impact of childhood adversity on multiple sclerosis (MS) outcomes among individuals with relapsing-remitting MS (RRMS), among whom approximately 70% belong to one of the following groups: Black, Hispanic, or poverty-impacted. We aim to understand how childhood adversity influences MS outcomes (onset, severity, brain health) in 300 participants with RRMS across 7 sites. This study involves two visits that include a research blood draw.
