Combining Laboratory and Ecological Momentary Assessment-based Methods to Determine Age-related Differences in the Relationship Between Alcohol Use, Pain, and Inflammation

The purpose of this research study is to learn more about how pain is related to alcohol use and mental health.


Why this Research Matters

If you join the study, you will have a phone screening, a 2-hour study visit at the Anschutz Medical Campus to answer questions, complete questionnaires, complete a blood draw, and a pain induction procedure. Following the on-campus visit, you will use your phone to answer survey questions five times a day for 30 days.


Who can Participate

Adult

You may be eligible to participate if you: 1. Are 25-80 years old 2. Use alcohol on a weekly basis 3. Have had mild to moderate pain in the past week Not everyone will be eligible to participate, other study eligibility criteria will be assessed by the study team
