Methods for Improving Sleep for Concussion Recovery

In this study we want to determine the best intervention for improving sleep quality in people recovering from a concussion. To do this we are comparing two sleep interventions and seeing how the impact the recovery time for a concussion.

Why this Research Matters

If you/your child join this study, you will come to three study visits at Children's Hospital Colorado. At these visits we will do tests to check your balance and mental cognition. We will also ask you to fill out surveys about your sleep, health, and daily habits. We will use a swab to gently collect a sample of spit from your mouth. We may also ask you to do some study activities at home, in between your visits. This may involve wearing a ring on your finger to track your sleep and answering other surveys. You will be paid up to $450 if you complete all of the study activities.

Who can Participate

All Ages

You/your child may be able to join this study if they are between 10 and 19 years old and have been diagnosed with a concussion by a doctor. Also, you must have concussion symptoms at the time you join this study. If you have a sleep disorder outside of your concussion, you cannot join this study.
