In this study we want to learn more about the safety and effectiveness of a drug called Xyosted ® (testosterone) to treat adolescent males that have a health problem called hypogonadism (low testosterone).
Hypogonadism is a condition where the male body does not make enough of a hormone called testosterone. This can cause problems during growth and puberty. In this study, we want to see how well Xyosted ® (testosterone) works to treat adolescents with this health problem. If you/your child join this study, you will come to roughly 20 study visits at Children's Hospital Colorado over the course of 1.5 years. At these visits we will do physical exams and ask you questions about your health. We will use an X-ray to take pictures of your bones. We will use a needle in your arm to take blood samples. We will use a machine to measure your heart beats. The study drug, Xyosted ®, is given as a shot once every 1-4 weeks. You will be paid for all the study visits you take part in.
You may be able to join this study if you are a male between the ages of 12 and 18 and have been diagnosed with hypogonadism and are either about to start testosterone or are currently on testosterone. If you are interested in joining our study, we will do other tests to make sure it is safe for you to join.
