This study plans to see if improving sleep health will improve health in adolescents with type 1 diabetes (T1D).
Are you a high school student with Type 1 Diabetes who usually sleeps less than seven hours on school nights? We’re looking for teens aged 14–19 to help us understand how better sleep can improve health. In this study, you will: Follow a normal school sleep schedule for one month, then an extended sleep schedule for another month. Home monitoring of sleep, food intake, and glucose levels throughout the study. Attend three in-person visits, including two overnight visits that include an insulin sensitivity test and MRI. By participating, you’ll help us learn how improving sleep habits may support better health in teens living with Type 1 Diabetes.
High school students between the ages of 14-19 years, Diagnosed with T1D for greater than 1 year, Using an insulin pump or other automated insulin delivery system, Have typically insufficient sleep, defined by ≤ 7 h per night on school days, With or at risk for obesity
