The goal of this study is to see how when you eat and when you exercise (morning or evening) affects metabolism.
As a participant in this study, you will be assigned to 4 different diet and exercise groups where the time of your meals and when you exercise will be different. This will last for 4 consecutive days, and you will be provided meals on 2-3 of the days. On the 5th day of each exercise and diet group, you will complete an exercise test. After you complete each diet and exercise group, you will wait 2-4 weeks before beginning the next diet and exercise group.
We are recruiting individuals that are aged 18-40 years old that have a BMI between 18.5 and 40 kg/m2 with no acute or chronic disease (cardiovascular disease (CVD), diabetes, pulmonary, gastrointestinal disorders, and orthopedic problems in particular), no contraindication to exercise or physical activity limitations, willing not to enroll in any other formal weight loss or physical activity programs over the next 6 months, are non-smokers, and live or work within 30 minutes of the CU Anschutz Medical Campus. To enroll all participants must meet specific criteria. The criteria listed above is only a partial list of all the requirements to participate in this research study. Only a clinical research staff member can determine eligibility.
