Volunteers needed for research study on changing eating behaviors

This study wants to learn more about people’s food perception and how this impacts what they eat.

Why this Research Matters

Our food perceptions are linked to our eating habits, and if we understand how we think and feel about food better, then we will understand people’s eating behaviors more.

What to Expect

If you join this study, you will have a visit to check if you qualify. If you qualify, you will be put into one of three groups. You do not get to choose which group you are in. One group will look at, smell and touch foods. The second group will look at several pictures of food with negative and positive images that you will not see. The last group will look at several pictures of food with neutral pictures you will not see. You then will complete the task you were assigned based on the group you were put in once a week for 12 weeks. You will have two visits where you will eat meals that we give you and where you will have an MRI of your brain. You will also fill out surveys, rate pictures of food, and talk about your medical history. We will also take your height, weight, and body composition during the study. You will wear an activity monitor and record what you eat in a food diary four times during this study.
