This study is looking for male and female participants with prediabetes that are aged 18 to 45 years old to learn how how short, frequent periods of physical activity impact your health.
The purpose of the study is to compare two different physical activity groups to learn about their effects on blood sugar and how your body breaks down food. If you decide to volunteer for this study, you will be randomly assigned to one of two groups. This means you will not get to choose which group you are in, like flipping a coin. The first group will walk briskly for 45 minutes at least five days a week. The second group will walk for five minutes nine times a day at least five days a week.
You will have a meeting through Zoom with a member from the study team to give your informed consent. After that, if you choose to join the study, you will complete two visits where the study team will check to see if you are eligible. You will need to follow the physical activity plan for three months and complete nine study visits. We will also check in with you for three months after you finish the study.
Your participation in the study will be about 9 months.
You may qualify for the study if you are:
Protocol Number: 20-1900
You can get up to $1350 for your participaton.
