Early iron exposure on the gut microbiota in young infants

Primary Objective

The purpose of this research study is to determine the impact of high vs. low iron exposure in exclusively formula-fed infants during the first months of life in high resource settings.

Description

This is a four month-long study, beginning at birth. The first study visit is conducted at the University of Colorado Hospital and the last visit takes place at Children’s Hospital Colorado. The other four visits are conducted in your home. Formula is provided to all study participants for the duration of the study! Compensation is also provided.

Main Procedures Involved: -Collection of stool and blood - Weight, length, and head circumference measurements
