Alcohol Use Disorder and Cannabis: Testing Novel Harm Reduction Strategies

Primary Objective

This study is designed to assess whether broad spectrum CBD and full spectrum CBD, compared to placebo, is effective in reducing alcohol drinking in participants with an alcohol use disorder. If eligible for the study, participants will be randomly chosen to receive one of the study conditions for 12 weeks.

Eligibility
To be eligible to participate in the study, participants must be over the age of 21 years old and have a desire to reduce their alcohol consumption. For females, participants must drink at least 10 drinks per week or have one binge drinking day per where they drink at least 4 drinks. For males, participants must drink at least 15 drinks per week or have one binge drinking day per week where they drink at least 5 drinks. Participants must not have a current diagnosis of an alcohol related illness or condition.
