Bipolar Prediction Brain Imaging Study

Primary Objective

We are studying the clinical history and brain imaging of young adults with Bipolar Disorder and Major Depressive Disorder. Our goal is to develop predictive models that will identify youth who will later develop Bipolar Disorder. This will facilitate treatment and interventions for youth at earlier stages of the disease.

Description

Adults age 18-40 with diagnoses of Bipolar Disorder or Major Depressive Disorder are being recruited for this study.

Main Procedures Involved: Diagnostic interview with a licensed mental health clinician Questionnaires Urine drug screening Brain MRI

Duration of Participation: A single visit, approximately 3 hours on the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, CO.
