Bipolar Prediction Brain Imaging Study

Primary Objective

This study is recruiting young adults 18-40 years old with Bipolar Disorder or Major Depressive Disorder to participate in a single study visit.

Description

We are studying the mental health history and brain imaging of young adults with mood disorders. Our goal is to create a model that will be able to predict which youth will later develop Bipolar disorder. With this model, we can develop treatments and interventions to help these youth sooner.

Main Procedures Involved: Participation includes a clinical interview with a licensed mental health professional, questionnaires on an iPad, a urine drug test and brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).. Participants can receive a flash drive with their brain images.

Duration of Participation: This study is a single 3.5 hour visit in person on the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, CO.
