Description

Both infants with and without hearing loss can be enrolled. Infants will complete non-invasive research procedures (i.e., hearing tests, EEG measurements) from 1 month of age up to a year following enrollment. Infants will complete research procedures throughout up to 4 scheduled study visits. Caregivers will be given the option to have their infant participate in an optional behavioral assessment once they have reached 6 months of age. Study visits can take place at our lab on the Anschutz Medical Campus or a Children's Hospital Colorado Audiology Center. Prior to any testing, children utilizing hearing aids will have their hearing aids verified using a listening check to ensure optimized fitting. Children using hearing aids will wear them during all study testing. The research methods used to test infants are very similar to standard procedures completed for routine hearing assessments.
