Menstrual profiles and cardiovascular disease risk among female adolescent athletes with and without menstrual irregularities
Primary Objective
To determine the effect of abnormal menstruation on markers of cardiovascular disease in adolescent athletes.
Description
Participants will undergo a bone scan, 15 minutes of metabolic testing, and blood draw to assess markers of cardiovascular disease as well as hormone levels.

Eligibility
Must be a competitive female athlete between the ages of 13 and 18 who has not had their period in the last three months. Must be willing to complete an eligibility assessment (survey) asking about menstrual cycle history.
