The FIERA study seeks to understand why women get rheumatoid arthritis (RA) more often than men and identify the female genital tract as a potential site where RA autoimmunity is initiated.
We invite participants for a study visit which involves a blood draw, a urine sample collection, and a joint exam by a rheumatologist. The visit will take about 40 minutes to 1 hour. Before coming in for the visit, participants will collect a few samples at home (saliva, vaginal swab, vaginal fluid sample) and complete a set of questionnaires. We will provide all the collection materials and instructions.
