Cannabis in Adolescents Study

Primary Objective

The purpose of this research is to better understand the effects of marijuana use on the endocannabinoid and endorphin systems in adolescents.

Description

(Arm 1) If you join the study, you will have a total of six study visits over about two months. Half of these visits will be held via Zoom and the other half will be held in person at a clinic on the CU Anschutz Campus in Aurora. You will be asked questions; complete questionnaires; and give urine, blood, and hair samples. -or- (Arm 2) If you join the study, you will have a total of 12 study visits over about two months. Some of these visits will be held via Zoom and others at a clinic on the CU Anschutz Campus in Aurora. You will be asked questions, complete questionnaires, and give urine, blood, saliva, and hair samples.

Main Procedures Involved: You will be asked questions, complete questionnaires, and give urine, blood, and hair samples. (Arm 1) For participating in the research study, you will be paid a total of $250.00. Payments will be prorated if you don’t complete all parts of the study. -or- (Arm 2) For participating in the research study, you will be paid $420 plus an additional $405 if you remain abstinent during the study.

Duration of Participation: (Arm 1) Six study visits over two months. All the study visits together will take about 4-6 hours. -or- (Arm 2) Twelve study visit over about two months.
